Carrier-Locked Samsung Phones — The Main Issue
Samsung phones purchased through a carrier (Verizon, AT&T, EE, Vodafone, etc.) may have eSIM disabled even if the hardware supports it.
How to check:
- Settings → About Phone → Software Information → check if eSIM section exists
- OR Settings → Connections → SIM card manager → look for “Add mobile plan”
If neither shows, your device may be carrier-locked or eSIM-disabled.

How to Install Airalo on Samsung Galaxy
- Purchase plan in Airalo app
- Settings → Connections → SIM card manager → Add mobile plan
- Scan QR code from another screen
- Follow on-screen prompts
- Enable Data Roaming for the new eSIM line
- Set as default for Mobile data
Samsung-Specific Issue: Carrier Policy
Some Samsung variants sold in South Korea have unique eSIM policies — Korean carrier models may have different eSIM availability. If your Galaxy was purchased in South Korea for Korean carrier use, eSIM behaviour may differ.
